Permanent Ineligibility for Citizenship Upon Criminal Charge Any individual who is not a citizen of the United States and who is formally charged with any criminal offense under the laws of the United States, or any State thereof, shall be permanently ineligible for United States citizenship. Section 2. Mandatory Deportation Upon Conviction Any individual who is not a citizen of the United States and is convicted of any criminal offense shall be subject to immediate removal from the United States upon completion of any lawful detention necessary to carry out such removal.
