Killian Yates - Open Application for Solicitor General

Open Application for Solicitor General of the United States

To the President of the United States and the American People:

I, Killian Yates, hereby submit my open application for appointment as the next Solicitor General of the United States.

At a time when clarity, courage, and constitutional fidelity are desperately needed at the highest levels of legal advocacy, I offer a commitment not to political expediency, but to the enduring principles that have held this Republic together for nearly two and a half centuries.

The Role Demands More Than Legal Expertise.

It demands backbone. It demands a guardian who will advocate not merely for a temporary administration’s policies, but for the permanent ideals of the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the principles of justice which transcend party or presidency.

I bring to the position:

  • An unwavering respect for the rule of law and the sovereignty of the people.
  • A relentless drive to defend the integrity of the Court and strengthen the voice of the citizenry within our legal system.
  • The ability to navigate complex cases with the moral compass of someone who serves not an office, but a nation.
  • A demonstrated record of public service, community leadership, and uncompromising stewardship of public trust.
  • A deep belief that the Solicitor General's first client is the Constitution itself — not any fleeting political pressure.

I am applying at a time when cynicism dominates public discourse and confidence in government is at historic lows. This is precisely why a Solicitor General must operate above faction, above personal gain, and above the echo chambers of modern politics.

I pledge to:

  • Defend the legitimate actions of the United States with honor.
  • Restrain the government’s reach when it exceeds its constitutional bounds.
  • Speak plainly and argue fiercely, regardless of whether the political winds are favorable.
  • Restore respect between the Court, the People, and the Executive Branch.

This is not merely an application. It is a call to action.

The American legal tradition demands stewards who understand that our system does not survive on paper, but through vigilance and valor. I am ready to meet that burden.

Respectfully submitted,
Killian Yates
