Hard as Dolomite

A New Original Song

Hard as Dolomite

A song about faith, recovery, inner peace, political accountability and refusing to surrender when the fight is worth fighting.

I wrote “Hard as Dolomite” while listening to @ChrisWebby. The lyrics move between faith in Jesus, the discipline required to protect your peace, the reality of addiction and overdose, and the need to confront government officials when public institutions stop listening to the people they serve.

The song also connects directly to my continuing advocacy over prisoner communication, the cost of staying connected with incarcerated family members, and the Merriam-Webster Rhyming Dictionary that remained undelivered after arriving at Snake River Correctional Institution.

This is not a song about waiting for chance to change things. It is about finding a reason worth fighting for, standing firm in faith and becoming hard as dolomite.

Hard as Dolomite

Original lyrics by Killian Yates

When you work hard, it’s hard to ask please
Till the heat crank up and you’re asking for relief
Nothing left to chance, on the grind with elbow grease
Wake up and praise Jesus, nothin’ breaking my peace
Signed and sold, a soul for Christ, no lease
So hungry and thirsty until my life filled by Jesus like a feast
Determination makes me an animal, but Christ makes me a beast
Chase the snakes and cheats in God’s house is my peace and relief
Of coral, colorful like the flag above Tina’s desk
Ask about wildfires, she says, find some resolve
Who looks at constituents like pests? She does!
I know the Lord says turn the other cheek, but we can’t keep letting people put our vets out cold on the streets
Chasing clubs and parties all night, driving around in BMW Mercedes fleets
Upgraded carpet in the governor’s mansion
Quiet security, like they’re spies
Can’t let public in, shoes might have grease

Chorus Hard as dolomite
Call me crazy
Praise the Lord, no maybe
Gonna give the devil a fight, forget chance or might

Eye to detail, fighting to a deed from lease
Fresh and ready for day, pants with a crease
Don’t let anyone take your energy, inner peace
Is the goal, guards it like Hope Solo, act never, the names arroz
Wait till my man Frijoles is free to take the scene
Book to the prison, still undelivered, who’s on the hook?
Julia should be at least
From the tower Christina watches
Don’t expect 10 bucks from the Inspector General’s Office
River full of snakes from Salem to Ontario

Chorus Hard as dolomite
Call me crazy
Praise the Lord, no maybe
Gonna give the devil a fight, forget chance or might

Look inside for the fight
Reason worth it, your light
Not talking clubbing all night
Fun for a night, tray full of ash in the Haight
Bury how many overdoses
Wake up the next day, call to say you’re gonna be late
Not every gamble an interest rate—of speed opposite of what I do
Decelerate

Chorus Hard as dolomite
Call me crazy
Praise the Lord, no maybe
Gonna give the devil a fight, forget chance or might

34 Hours - Where are the Ukrainian Children

Public record: documentation of a follow-up email sent to Russian authorities, addressed to Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, July 2026 — presented in nine languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Polish, German, Swedish, Italian, and Norwegian. English · Русский · Українська · Français · Polski · Deutsch · Svenska · Italiano · Norsk English To Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, It has now been approximately 34 hours since I last wrote to you regarding the abducted Ukrainian children. The buses have not stopped. The camps have not emptied. So I write again. This time I will not reiterate the importance of a child's formative years, and I will not explain why the immediate release of these children matters. There is no need. Russia already understands both perfectly — that understanding is the entire reason for the program. You do not steal childhoods unless you know precisely what childhoods are worth. The calculation is transparent: take eno...

Threats United States national security and space dominance

Threat Analysis: The Strategic Risks of Japan/India/UK Space Capabilities on U.S. Military Space Assets and National Security Killian H. Yates | Sunday, February 23, 2025 www.LinkedIn.com/in/KillianYates United States of America Executive Summary Japan’s advancements in space debris removal technologies—especially through initiatives like Astroscale and JAXA’s Commercial Removal of Debris Demonstration (CRD2) program—pose a dual-use risk to U.S. military assets in space. While these capabilities are publicly focused on maintaining space sustainability, their precision and operational flexibility could be repurposed to undermine U.S. space dominance. This paper explores the specific threats these technologies pose to U.S. military space infrastructure and examines the strategic implications of a potential shift in space power dynamics. 1. Overview of Japan’s Space Debris Capabilities Astroscale and JAXA Initiatives: ADRAS-J and ADRAS-J2 spacecraft demonstrate advan...
